As such, we collect, process and use your personal data exclusively in compliance with the applicable data protection laws, in particular those of the Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz, TMG). In the following, we inform you about the data collected during your visit to our website and in the course of your use of the information and offers provided, and how these are processed or used.

2. Responsible party and service provider

The responsible party for this website as defined by the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and also the service provider for it as defined by the Telemedia Act (TMG), is: Tapetenfabrik Gebr. 3. General terms & definitions

Personal data is all data that can be used to identify an individual, i.e. characteristics that can be traced back to a specific person. These include but are not limited to: name, date of birth, email address, telephone number and gender. The IP address and information about the websites that a person has viewed may also count as personal data.

4. Collection and use of your data

Personal data will only be collected, used, processed and passed on by us if required or permitted by law, or if the user has consented to such data collection.

The extent and type of collection and use of your data will differ depending on whether you visit our website solely to retrieve information, or whether you make use of the services that we offer:

4.1 Informational use

In general, you will not be required to provide personal data for merely visiting our website (informational use).
In this case, we will only collect and use the data that are automatically transferred to us via your internet browser, such as:
  • the date and time of a visit to one of our web pages
  • The type of browser that you are using
  • your browser settings
  • the operating system that you are using
  • the site that you visited last
  • the amount of data transferred and the access status (file transferred. file not found, etc.), and
  • your IP address.

4.2 Data security

We take various technical and organisational measures in order to protect your data as effectively as possible against unwanted access. We use an encryption method on our websites. Your information will be transferred over the internet from your computer to our server and vice versa via TLS encryption. You will recognise this by the fact that the padlock symbol is closed in the status bar of your browser, and the address line begins with https://.
The above data are collected and processed by us in exclusively non-personal form. This is done for the purpose of enabling you to use the websites that you have requested, for statistical purposes and to improve our internet offering. We only store the IP address for the duration of your visit; person-related analysis does not take place.

4.3 Use of content

If you make use of the content that we provide on our website, it is, however, necessary for you to give additional information. These data are required for the respective data processing activities involved. Your data is collected or used for the purposes of providing you with the service that you want, such as receiving an answer to a request submitted via the contact form or a sign-up for newsletter emails. We will collect and process your personal data only to the extent set out below.
The legal basis for such data processing is in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1, lit. b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (Datenschutz-Grundverordnung, DSGVO).

4.3.1 Contact form

If you send messages to us via the contact forms provided on the website, we will store and use your data only for the purpose of responding to your request. Data transmitted to us via the contact form is encrypted.
We will process your request in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1, lit. b) of the DSGVO. We will delete your request as soon as it is no longer required for processing.

4.3.3 Newsletter

If you have decided to register to receive our newsletter, we will use the data that you provided upon registering solely for the purpose of sending the newsletter or related information to the address provided. The data will be processed accordingly, in line with Article 6, Paragraph 1, lit. a of the DSGVO.
If you later decide that you no longer wish to receive our newsletter or our promotional emails, please click on the 'ABMELDEN/UNSUBSCRIBE' link contained in every newsletter and promotional email that we send.
4.3.4 Use of service providers, data transfer and data usage by third parties

Your data will only be transferred to third parties if we are legally obliged to enable this to take place, or if this is necessary for the performance of the contractually agreed services and/or authorised according to the legal regulations. In such cases, the scope of the data transmitted is, however, limited to the required minimum.

For example, data may be transferred for purpose of sending newsletter/advertising mailings (email service providers), for which we use carefully selected external service providers within the EU/EEA, who process personal data exclusively on behalf of and in accordance with our instructions, in compliance with these data protection regulations and all of the necessary security measures.

As the information on our website is jointly provided with AkzoNobel N.V., the data that you enter will also be forwarded to our cooperation partner so that it can provide you with the information that you require in an appropriate manner. In this respect, this data protection declaration also applies to our partner AkzoNobel N.V..
In the course of operating these websites and the processes associated with them, we also rely on other service providers (e.g. for hosting and web development). These service providers are strictly bound by our instructions and contractually obligated under the terms of Article 28 of the DSGVO.

The DSGVO grants you certain rights as a website user in terms of the processing of your personal data:

2.) Right to correction and deletion (Articles 16 and 17 of the DSGVO):
You have the right to request the immediate correction of any incorrect personal data and, if necessary, the completion of any incomplete personal data.
You also have the right to request that personal data relating to you be deleted immediately, provided that one of the reasons specified in Article 17 of the DSGVO applies, e.g. if the data is no longer needed for the intended purpose.
3.) Right to the limitation of processing (Article 18 of the DSGVO):
You have the right to request the limitation of processing, provided that one of the conditions set out in Article 18 of the DSGVO applies, for instance if you have lodged an objection to such processing, for the duration of any necessary investigation.

In certain cases, specified in Article 20 of the DSGVO, you have the right to request any personal data relating to you in a structured, accessible and machine-readable format, or to request the transmission of this data to third parties.

We will then cease to process your personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling protection-related reasons why the data requires such processing, and which outweigh the interests, rights and freedoms of the person affected, or if such processing is required for the purpose of enforcing, exercising or defending legal claims.
Right of appeal to a supervisory authority
In accordance with Article 77 of the DSGVO, you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority if you believe that data relating to you has been processed in a manner that violates data protection laws. In particular, the right to appeal may be asserted to a supervisory body in the member state of your place of residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged violation.
